How can we help?
Contact support
Email us about a problem, privacy request or appeal. Include the app version, device model and a short description of what happened. If you share a screenshot, remove other people's names and schedules first. Do not send passwords, invitation links, patient details or other sensitive workplace information.
DD support identifier — version 1.6 and later
In a version that provides this feature, open Settings → Support to view your account's DD support identifier. DutyDone uses your existing cloud identity if you have one. Otherwise, choose Create support identifier, complete the security check, then choose Continue and create. This creates an anonymous cloud identity; it does not enable Friends or upload your calendar.
Touch and hold the identifier to copy it, then send it privately to support@waaistudio.com when asking for account-related help. Confirm again reloads the identifier if needed. Share it only with support, not in public posts or screenshots. It helps us locate the relevant account record; it cannot sign in, prove account ownership by itself or recover an account.
Before changing device or reinstalling, link and verify an email in Account & recovery. If you want private records included in recovery, separately enable private backup and check the last successful backup time. Keeping a DD identifier is not a substitute for these steps.
Monthly support and Apple purchases
In a supported iOS app, open Settings → Help & support → Monthly support. This optional monthly subscription removes ads while it is active. Your personal calendar, Friends, events, reminders and backup remain free, including display mode, working-hours estimates and before-shift reminders. The app shows the price provided by Apple when the plan is available. Before confirming a purchase, review the currency and price shown on Apple's purchase confirmation. Apple handles payment, and the subscription renews monthly until cancelled. If the plan is not available yet or its price cannot load, you can continue using the free features.
Restore: use the Apple Account that made the purchase, then open Settings → Monthly support → Restore purchases. Allow Apple's sign-in prompt if shown and wait for the check to finish. A DutyDone recovery email or restored private backup does not restore an Apple purchase. If no active subscription is found, check the Apple Account and subscription status; an expired subscription is not made active by restoring. See Apple's purchase-restoration help.
Manage or cancel: choose Manage subscription in the same screen, or open iPhone/iPad Settings → your name → Subscriptions → DutyDone. To stop renewal, choose Cancel Subscription and complete Apple's instructions. Check the status and end date shown by Apple. Cancelling renewal normally keeps ad-free access for the remaining active period shown in DutyDone. See Apple's cancellation instructions or open Apple subscription settings.
Offline or unable to confirm: reconnect, reopen DutyDone and choose Try again, or use Restore purchases. An unconfirmed status is not proof that a purchase failed or that renewal was cancelled. Check with Apple before purchasing again. A previously verified period can remain usable until its known end, but an offline check cannot confirm a later renewal. If Apple is retrying payment, review payment details in Apple subscription settings. Any confirmed billing grace period and its end date appear in the app.
Purchase pending: a purchase may be awaiting Apple approval or completion. Check the request with Apple, or with your family organiser if approval is required, before requesting again. The absence of a completed transaction does not mean the request was cancelled. Use Request not completed? only after checking the original request; the app cannot cancel an Apple approval request for you.
Billing and refunds: use Apple's refund instructions and Report a Problem, or contact Apple Support for billing help. Apple determines refund eligibility and the outcome; a refund is not guaranteed. For a subscription that Apple shows as active but DutyDone cannot restore, email us with the app version and the status or error shown. Do not send your Apple password, verification code, full payment-card details or unredacted receipts.
Deleting the app, resetting local data, deleting private backups or deleting your DutyDone cloud account does not cancel the Apple subscription. Cancel it separately with Apple. Apple purchases and DutyDone cloud-account recovery are separate.
Edit and share your calendar
Open Settings → Edit schedule to make changes, then choose Done to return to viewing. Shift types & data manages your shift names, codes and colours. Share calendar image creates a picture for saving or sharing through your device.
Your personal calendar works locally. Calendar images already saved or sent elsewhere are controlled by you and the destinations you choose.
Display mode and scheduled hours
In Settings → Appearance & language → Display mode, choose Follow system, Light or Dark. This choice affects the app and stays on this device; the style choice is separate. Use Show working hours in dates to show saved start and finish times where space permits, with day or week details available on smaller cells. +1 means the shift finishes the next day.
The personal calendar's Estimated scheduled hours section offers View hours details. Estimates use current shift-type working times without deducting breaks; they are not attendance or pay records. Shifts without working times are listed separately. Overnight hours belong to the starting date, and daylight-saving changes do not add or subtract an hour. Changing a shift type also changes estimates for past months. These features remain free.
Personal events
Tap + above your calendar or Add event in the selected day's details. Enter the title, dates and times; open Color, repeat & details for repeats, reminders, location and notes. Tap a colored date marker to see the full day's events. For a repeating event, choose This occurrence or Entire series before editing or deleting.
Events are private by default. Share with Friends publishes that event's title, dates, location and notes to all your joined Groups; reminders stay private. Offline sharing changes remain pending until confirmed. In Friends, open a member's week to read or report a shared event.
Local event reminders are available in the iOS and Android app after you allow notifications. The app considers up to 48 event reminders within one year and refreshes them when opened; available notification capacity is shared with tomorrow's and before-shift reminders. All-day reminders use 9:00 am; device settings affect delivery. The web app cannot send background reminders. Cloud-account deletion keeps local events and makes them private; resetting all data removes events and their reminders.
Public holidays
In version 1.5 and later, open Settings → Public holidays and choose Hong Kong; England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland; Taiwan government offices; New South Wales; or Victoria. The choice is independent of app language. The page shows each calendar's official source, scope and supported years; dates are bundled with the app rather than updated live. Public holidays do not change your assigned shifts or days off. Taiwan adjusted workdays have a separate dashed marker.
The selected calendar appears in your schedule, your view of Friends, date details, Find a day, calendar images and supported home-screen widgets. Hong Kong uses general public holidays, not the statutory-holiday calendar. Taiwan's government-office calendar may differ from private-sector schedules; local and employer arrangements may also differ elsewhere. Check notices for unsupported years, pending dates and local variations.
Tomorrow's shift reminder
In version 1.5 and later on iOS and Android, open Settings → Tomorrow's shift reminder. It starts off, with a default time of 20:00. Choose your reminder time and turn it on to request notification permission. It uses your phone's local time and your saved schedule. Unassigned dates are skipped; days off are skipped unless you turn on Also remind on days off.
Choose Show shift details or Only prompt me to open the app. Detailed content can include the date, shift name and code, optional hours and selected holiday information, which may appear on your lock screen. This choice does not change event notification content. Check notification schedules one generic test notification.
The app checks up to 42 upcoming dates and uses available notification capacity shared with event reminders. Check Reminder status for the actual next scheduled reminder and coverage, and open the app regularly to schedule later dates. Reminders are not generated indefinitely in the background. Timing and sound depend on notification, Focus and battery settings; Android device restrictions may also affect delivery. If permission or the notification channel is off, use the recovery action and check the phone's settings. The web app cannot enable these notifications.
If reminder updates repeatedly fail, check the phone's date and time and use Retry reminder update. Contact support before clearing app data. Reset reminder settings restores off at 20:00 and keeps your schedule; it does not clear the local reminder history used to prevent duplicates. That limited history also survives Reset all DutyDone data, as explained in the privacy policy.
Before-shift reminder
Open Settings → Before-shift reminder on iOS or Android. It starts off, with a default of 60 minutes before work and generic notification content. Choose 30, 60 or 90 minutes before work, then turn it on and allow notifications. It uses your saved shift start time, so set working times in Shift types & data first. Days off, unassigned dates and shifts without working times are skipped. This feature is free.
Choose generic content to prompt you to open the app, or detailed content to show shift information and working times. Details may appear on the lock screen. This choice applies only to before-shift reminders; tomorrow's and event reminders keep their own settings. If both shift-reminder modes are on, each sends its own notification.
The app checks 42 shift dates including today. Check Reminder status for the actual next reminder and coverage, and open the app regularly to arrange later dates. A reminder time that has already passed is not sent as a catch-up notification. After changing time zones, open the app to update reminders; a closed app cannot retime existing notifications automatically. Delivery depends on notification, battery and Focus settings. The web app cannot enable these reminders.
If an update fails, check the device's date, time and notification settings, then use Retry reminder update. Before-shift preferences and scheduling records are not included in DutyDone private backup; check this setting separately after changing devices. If the app offers Repair before-shift reminders, read its confirmation: repair turns this reminder off, clears its pending notifications and skips today and tomorrow. Your schedule and other reminders are kept. Contact support before clearing app data.
Home-screen widgets
Open Settings → Home screen widgets for previews and iPhone or Android installation steps. In a supported installed app, widgets use your saved personal shifts and selected holiday calendar. Open DutyDone after changing your schedule or holiday choice and check the widget update status. The phone controls when widgets refresh. Their saved schedule has limited coverage; reopen the app to keep it current. Expo Go and the web app provide previews, not installed native widgets.
Report content or block a member
In Friends, open the relevant Group's settings to report the Group or a member. Choose a reason, add a short explanation if helpful, and submit. Report details are private from other Group members. You can also contact support about a report or moderation decision.
Blocking an identity prevents you and that identity from reading each other's shared rosters across your common Groups. It does not delete anyone's shifts or change Group roles. Use the blocked list to unblock an identity. Blocking cannot recall content someone has already seen or saved.
Shared text is filtered for objectionable content. Filters can miss harmful text or flag legitimate text; report problems or contact support. Other members' schedules require a current online connection; your personal roster remains available offline.
Request account or data deletion
You can request deletion of your DutyDone cloud account, shared data or support correspondence by emailing support@waaistudio.com. You do not need to reinstall the app to send a request. Say what you want deleted and whether you still have access to the original installation. We will reply to clarify the scope, verify ownership and explain the next steps.
In version 1.6 and later, if you linked and verified an email before losing access, use Settings → Account & recovery to sign in and preview available data. An unlinked anonymous identity has no recovery email and may not be identifiable after its local sign-in is lost. A message from an email address, a display name or a DD identifier alone does not prove ownership for a support request. We will explain any verification limitation. Do not send passwords, verification codes, invitation links or identity documents.
If you still have the app, open Settings → Cloud account → Delete cloud account. The flow shows any Groups you need to leave or delete. A final administrator can transfer administration or delete the Group. Complete those steps, then confirm cloud-account deletion.
This deletes your cloud identity, linked email access, shared data and private backups while keeping your personal roster on the device. Reset all DutyDone data also clears local data after cloud deletion succeeds. If another device has become the primary writer, use Account & recovery before requesting deletion again. If a request fails, keep the app installed and retry when connected; uninstalling is not a substitute for cloud deletion.
These deletion and reset actions do not cancel Apple subscription billing. If you subscribed, manage or cancel the subscription separately with Apple.
Confirmed deletion removes the cloud identity, memberships, shared roster, shared events and private backups from the live service, and removes identifying details from reports. Limited records may remain for up to 30 days, redacted moderation records for up to 90 days, and separate operational recovery copies for up to 7 days. Provider operational copies and records follow their terms, including after live deletion; see the privacy policy for details. We cannot remotely erase local-only calendars or copies you shared with others.
Account recovery and private backup — version 1.6 and later
Before changing devices, open Settings → Account & recovery on the current device, link an email and verify its code. This preserves access to the same account; it does not back up private records by itself. On the new device choose Restore an existing account, verify that email, and inspect the preview before confirming. An unlinked anonymous sign-in cannot be recovered after it is lost, and a deleted account cannot be restored.
Private backup is a separate opt-in. It uploads your complete personal roster, private and shared events, notes, reminder choices and portable settings for your account only; it does not share them with Friends. The latest saved backup remains until you delete backups or the account, with up to three previous versions from the preceding seven days. Check the last successful backup time: later edits may not be included.
Stop automatic backup prevents future uploads but keeps saved versions. Delete private backups also turns off automatic backup and removes all saved versions from the live service after confirmation. New versions require you to explicitly enable automatic backup again. Provider operational copies have separate retention, as described in the privacy policy.
A restore replaces local records after confirmation and keeps the previous local copy for seven days. It makes this device the primary writer; older devices retain local records but cloud writes stop. Friends sharing stays paused until you separately review and publish, and reminders require separate enabling on this device. Existing synced data alone may omit private events, reminders and settings. Current Group permissions and account gifts come from the service, not from a backup.
The working-hours display preference can be included in private backup; display mode and before-shift reminder settings stay on the device. Apple subscription status and transaction records are not restored from DutyDone backup. Use Restore purchases separately with the Apple Account used to buy the subscription.
Contact support before clearing app data if you see a storage or synchronization error. DutyDone receives personal roster data only when you explicitly enable Group sharing or private backup.
